Take a ?uess

[ The experience begins, when the sweet aroma of fresh tomatoes wafts through the nose. As one gazes down , the eyes are overwhelmed by the mosaic of succulent , vibrant-red tomato slices ,purplish-white, scaly petals of onions and strings of refreshing green capsicums appearing...

to be drowning in a sea of sizzling cheese , the bubbling , glazed , off-white surface that produces a sound similar to a million rain drops falling , making the mouth water instantly. As the angular pieces enter the mouth , the grilled , rough surface coated with a thin layer of grease triggers the molars to sink into the piece,

a crunch ending with a smooth munch as the matrimony of sweet , sour, tangy tomatoes , mellow-savory cheese and the slightly acidic taste of capsicum and onion aggravate the taste buds . As one slowly chews on the crisp , flour base balances out the tastes perfectly. The experience is completed as the explosion of taste and texture makes the entire blend melt down the throat.] VS

[ I enter the pizzeria , the smell of pizza wafting all around , a cheesy circle, with slices of red tomato, onions , capsicums , placed on the dirty table . It is so heavenly, so tasty , it is amazing. It is amazing because its pizza. ]

Notice something? Of course you did, this right here is an analogy , an analogy of life.

(Yet just in the case that you were still plagued by the confusion resulting from my severely lacking descriptive skills , I was describing the experience of eating a pizza , this was my first official descriptive writing project , accomplished in the short yet eventful course of 15 minutes under the stern supervision of my English language professor)

A brilliant life, an extraordinary life seems akin to the first description : it is vivid , lively, it seems effortless , meaningful in every way as if these words were meant to be imprinted unto the page exactly as they have , as if the universe had come together to create this masterpiece!

( side note: all this is exaggeration for entertainment purposes only , kindly refrain, if possible from judging the literary accomplishment of this piece . The author does not think too highly of it either.)

But the truth is...it isn't , to be extraordinary it takes extraordinary effort , no one , and I mean no one , even those you might idolize reach where they are just because they are above us mortals...no , everyday they make certain choices , difficult choices that us averagers , those living the C+ lives never make . They do not settle, they do not give in , they do not give into their urges , a part of their programming , a part of our programming.

We all as humans have inherited certain traits which are morally unacceptable, our greed, selfishness , gluttony , lust , sloth , jealousy , wrath and pride ... it is our darkness . It is very easy to give in , it is difficult to resist yet it remains a choice.

As St.Savin in 'The Devil and Miss Prym' told Ahab , that it was not that he lacked desire, it was that he controlled it , he tried to become something greater than himself and so must we.

Without effort, without purpose..we simply live the length of life, we flow by , averagely , saying " That life isn't for me, it is for those born for greatness" , well greatness my friend can either come from within or be thrust upon you , at the end of the day it is your decision between,"today I devoted another day to becoming a higher being" or " same shit, different day".

The decision is yours .
